LeAnn Rimes Addresses Cheating in "What Have I Done"
LeAnn Rimes was only 19-years-old when she married backup dancer, Dean Sheremet, and, unfortunately, that union did not last. After about seven years together, they divorced following her infidelity.
She cheated on Sheremet with Eddie Cibrian, her married co-star, and both of their lives just fell apart. They faced public scorn and lost fans but, in the end, Rimes and Cibrian got married and are still together.
Now 30 years old, the country singer is releasing her song “What Have I Done” and the lyrics are very, very telling: "Oh my love, what have I done? / I shot an arrow at your heart that I can't take back / When I said you were my first love, but you are not my last."
She wrote the song, fuelled by guilt, and says that she wouldn’t wish what happened to her on anyone, especially in the public eye. She explained: "I made my choices and I'm living with them. I also have learned from them and I've talked about this so much. But I know that I'm not the only person that goes through this. There's so many that do."
She’s right too. There are other people who have been in similar situations (Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks, for example).
"What Have I Done" will be released tomorrow (Nov. 20) and is from her upcoming album, Spitfire.
