Lady Gaga Visits Terminally ill Little Monster
Lady Gaga may have postponed the rest of her Born This Way Ball tour due to health concerns but she still found enough energy in herself to visit an ill fan. The Little Monster in question was a five year-old girl Kayleigh Gurbynski, who has a life-threatening congenital heart defect.
The ill toddler had come from Wisconsin in order to attend the "Poker Face" hitmaker's concert in Chicago before the singer cancelled the remainder of her tour dates due to severe inflammation of her joints. When Gaga was told of Kayleigh's condition, she decided to make it up to her by meeting her in person.
"It just goes to show that no matter what you say about some of these high-falutin artists, many of them do have huge hearts and put them to good use sometimes, and that happened here," the child's grateful mom said in a radio interview with WSAU.
Earlier this week, Gaga told her followers on Twitter that she is suffering from synovitis but detailed test reports have since shown that her right hip has a labral tear and surgery is her only option.
The surgery would likely keep the 26-year-old pop star out of the music game for several months and so her tour promoter Live Nation have decided to refund the tickets of her next 20 shows.
"She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict downtime to recover. This, unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour so she can heal," the promotion company revealed in a statement on Wednesday.
