Lady Gaga Puts Out Preview of Next Single – “Swine”
For a pop star’s career, Lady Gaga’s gap between “Marry the Night” and “Applause” looks like a descent into irrelevancy. But now that “Applause” is out and the Mother Monster received praise for her performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs, she seems to be on a strong streak.
Quickly following up “Applause,” Gaga put out a preview of upcoming single “Swine” online, with a tweet leading to a YouTube video of the singer performing the track live. But rather than with a band, she was behind a series of keyboards and synth drum pads. She then tweeted part of the lyrics: “Maybe I should have a little more just to stay out of my mind? Cause its when I'm not thinkin' with you that I act like a Swine!”
The live preview comes from rehearsals for the singer’s upcoming performance at the iTunes Festival in London on September 1. For those who can’t make it, the show is expected to be streamed live.
Aside from letting fans in on her next release, Gaga then proceeded to debate about what to wear in her performance: "I will be providing a list of acceptable attire for #SwineFest throughout the week. Item 1: Seashells. Item 2: Seahorses 3: Starfish… I would also suggestion 4. Paint colored dreadlocks for securing 'under the sea' Boticelli-Punk accessories. More fashion updates to come! […] Acceptable attire for #SwineFest CONTINUED: 5: BEDAZZLED PIG NOSE 6: BOWIE MAGICIAN GARB 7: TRASHBAG or ARTCLOTHES (THERE IS A PAINT ZONE)… #ARTCLOTHES are clothes you don't mind getting covered in live art!"
