Lady Gaga Leaks Title Track from ‘ARTPOP’
It has been an ARTPOP week for Lady Gaga. On October 18, the singer announced her collaboration with R. Kelly called “Do What You Want.” Then, news of her X Factor performance for single “Venus” surfaced this week. Following this, the singer leaked her album’s title track more recently.
Just under 90 seconds adds another layer to the varying sounds on ARTPOP. The lyrics also make sense of the “reverse Warhol” concept from the album’s statement over the summer: "My ARTPOP could mean anything."
But no matter if you call it a “teaser” or “leak,” “Artpop” heads a trio of previews that lead up to the album’s November 11 release. The next two come out on October 27 and November 4.
Here the track here.
As far as official releases are concerned, “Do What You Want” has been confirmed as ARTPOP’s second official single, but in officially announcing the release, Gaga took to Twitter to address her critics. Yesterday, her account displayed statements related to her most pervasive criticisms, including about being fat, copying Madonna, and being a hermaphrodite, but at some point during the Q&A, she touched on the album’s theme: "it is a complete and total transportation from pop culture as you know it into an explosion of art fantasy, rage and eros."
“Venus” comes out on October 25, with her X Factor performance following a few days later. As well, “Venus” begins a trilogy of videos leading up to ARTPOP’s release.
