Lady Gaga Appears Nude on Official ‘ARTPOP’ Cover Art
Lady Gaga’s ARTPOP drops in roughly a month, so now seems like the right time to unveil the artwork. That’s what she did recently, with an image of the singer nude plastered on billboards in the U.S. and other parts of the world. Jeff Koons, one of the artists featured in her upcoming artRave show, designed the graphics.
Koon’s artwork will be part of the artRave ARTPOP release party scheduled for November 10, a day before the album drops. Performance artists Inez & Vinoodh, Robert Wilson, and Marina Abramovic will also appear.
ARTPOP’s first single “Applause” debuted at the end of August. While the track came out ahead of schedule because of a leak, it was in competition with Katy Perry’s “Roar.” Since that point, the track peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went to No. 1 on multiple genre charts.
Back when a statement about ARTPOP came out on Gaga’s Facebook page, her team described the album would “bring the music industry into a new age” and called it a “reverse Warhol” experience. To give fans a preview of her new direction, ARTPOP tracks debuted at her recent iTunes Festival performance.
Out of those, one is expected to be the follow-up to “Applause” and to drop before the album’s release in November. “Swine” is rumored to be the song, but out of those the singer’s performed so far, which would you like as the next single?
