Lady Gaga Announces New Single
It has been a while since Lady Gaga put out new material, with her last prominent single being “Marry the Night” and its possibly autobiographical video. During a question and answer session the singer had through Twitter today, a new single was revealed. Although a title was not mentioned, the track is expected to come out at some point in 2013, likely before ARTPOP hits in the spring.
Along with this tidbit, Gaga revealed that she worked with Fernando Garibay and RedOne and that part of the campaign for the release will include a follow-up to the Beyonce-featuring “Telephone” video.
There’s no word if the “Telephone” follow-up will be the new single, or if it will be part of the multimedia experience offered by the app version of ARTPOP. Although Gaga is not the first artist to put out an app version of her music (Bjork and Polyphonic Spree already did this), the ARTPOP app, available for multiple devices, is expected to include chats, films, more music, content, games, fashion, magazines, and more features, with regular updates after the album is properly released.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Lindsay Lohan was appearing in a Lady Gaga video. In this case, given Lohan’s self-parody in her latest Saturday Night Live performance, appearing in a “Telephone” sequel is apt.
As of recent, Lady Gaga has been doing her Born This Way Ball tour. Live dates in North America are scheduled for early 2013.
