Kurt Cobain Documentary Coming, Courtney Love Not Involved

It's taken a while for a documentary to be made but will Cobain's widow be a problem? Kurt Cobain Documentary Coming, Courtney Love Not Involved

It’s going to be highly controversial but Brett Morgen is working on a documentary about the short but eventful life of Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain.  Morgen feels up to the task after completing Crossfire Hurricane, a documentary about the Rolling Stones.

Much to the relief of many of Cobain’s fans, his widow, Courtney Love, is not involved in the project even though Morgen is quoted by the New York Post as saying that they are working on it together.  Her rep denies this but says that Love is “very happy” Morgen is the one in charge because “he’s a great director.”

Interestingly enough, Morgen now agrees with Love’s statement.  He says that he met the former Hole lead singer back in 2007 in Los Angeles about the possibility of making this film which is slated to be released sometime in 2014.

First of all, this documentary is long overdue.  It’s amazing that it’s taken this long for someone to step up to the plate and be brave enough to tackle it.

Secondly, is it really such a good idea for Courtney Love to be friendly with this guy at all?  Is it going to affect his objectivity when it comes to her relationship with Cobain and how he died?  We’ll have to wait and see.
