A nu-metal band doing dubstep? What do you call that – dub-metal? For their 10th studio album, Korn decided to take an experimental approach and brought on dubstep producers DJ Skrillex, Noisia, Downlink, and Excision. Titled The Path of Totality, the new album is being released in December 6 in two versions: a standard 11-track CD and a special edition set with bonus tracks and a DVD.

First single “Get Up!” has been one of the summer’s Top 10 rock radio hits, selling more than 150,000 downloads, and since then second single “Narcissistic Cannibal” has come out. The band announced the full tracklist late last week. The 11-track version of The Path of Totality will include:

'Bleeding Out'
'Chaos Lives In Everything'
'Kill Mercy Within'
'My Wall'
'Narcisstic Cannibal'
'Illuminati'
'Burn The Obedient'
'Sanctuary'
'Let's Go'
'Get Up!'
'Way Too Far'

To support the release, Korn started a club tour on October 7. The tour, with a three-week break before the Boston show, is expected to finish on November 20.

About the album, frontman Jonathan David said in a statement: "The title 'The Path Of Totality' refers to the fact that in order to see the sun in a full solar eclipse, you must be in the exact right place in the exact right time. That's how this album came together. I think all the producers feel the same way. I'm not sure it could ever happen again"

Guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer went on to explain: "'Get Up!' started as a bit of an experiment, but we had such an amazing response from our fans and had such a great time collaborating that a full album of tracks came together in a couple of months. We couldn't wait to get to the studio every day to finish the next song."

If you haven’t had a chance to listen to Korn’s dubstep sound, watch and listen to “Get Up!” below. What do you think?
