Kirstie Alley Calls Lady Gaga Weight Criticism "Insanity"
Lady Gaga has made no secret of the fact that she has put on some weight – and she’s comfortable with it. There has been all kinds of chatter about her new shape and one person does not find it appropriate.
Kirstie Alley was a real sex symbol in the 80s and 90s with roles on the television show Cheers and in movies including Look Who’s Talking. She eventually chose to focus more on being a mother and, over the years, gained a considerable amount of weight. She understands how it feels to be scrutinized for not looking like a Barbie doll and she doesn’t like how Gaga is being treated.
The 61-year-old lamented over the fact that the younger singer has gained just 26 pounds and it has become “this huge thing.” Alley really put it in perspective too. She mentioned that, before the weight gain, Gaga was so thin that criticizing the extra pounds is pretty silly.
In a recent interview with Elvis Duran, Gaga herself took aim at critics and said: "To all the girls that think you're ugly because you're not a size 0, you're the beautiful one. It's society who's ugly."
She’s really got a point.
