Kings Of Leon Release The Music Video For 'Talihina Sky'
Kings Of Leon has just released the music video for Talihina Sky, a track from the album Youth and Young Manhood which they released back in 2003. The clip has just been released now to advertise the documentary movie "Talihina Sky" detailing the story of the Kings of Leon.
The doco goes back to the turn of the century in Tennessee when the Followill brothers – Nathan, Caleb and Jared – with cousin Matthew decided to form a band. Preferring to play alternative rock music, little did they know that soon they were going to gain millions of fans around the world. Their lives now are a far cry from the poverty-stricken childhood spent living in a car and touring the country as their father preached the gospel to whoever would listen. Tormented by the uncertain gypsy-like lifestyle, their mother did everything possible to provide some sort of stable ground while constantly travelling.
The movie shows the rebellious side of the brothers as they grew up, showing what inspires the creative genius behind these rock legends. Fans, and even people who are not Leon followers, will find the story fascinating.
The music video shows the band playing the song "Talihina Sky" without any audience - it's almost just like a rehearsal except that there are no interruptions from start to finish. Talihina is the town in Oaklahoma where their grandfather, Leon, lived. Hence the basic roots connection.
There is not much to say about the song other than it is a very simple song, very few lyrics (repeated numerous times throughout the song), and a simple basic tune. However it is the perfect song for the movie, identifying the simple, basic beginning from which the Kings of Leon began.
