Kevin Rudolph Talks Album Delays, Previews "Champions"
People have been wondering about Kevin Rudolf’s upcoming album and, based on what he recently said, he also realizes that it seems to be taking longer than expected. In an interview, he explained that he has been “kicking [his] own butt to get the record finished” but believes it’s been delayed by the fact that he really wants to get it right. It makes sense. Hopefully he doesn’t overthink it!
When he first burst onto the scene with “Let it Rock” (featuring Lil Wayne) from his 2008 In the City album, he definitely made a name for himself. He followed up in 2010 with To The Sky but he’s been quiet since then.
He explained that he has been trying to explore new sounds and even new parts of himself so that it can all be reflected in his new music. He also said that if he was really forced to do it, he could put something out tomorrow but he really wants to take his time.
In the meantime, fans can check out a little preview of what he’s been working on. His new single “Champions” features Lil Wayne, Birdman and Limp Bizkit and, really, it’s pretty tight. His explanation of how it went down was pretty interesting too. He said that he was in Los Angeles working with Fred Durst on the new Limp Bizkit album when he came up with the beat and the hook. Soon after, Durst was already laying down his verse and that rest of it all just happened “super quick.”
Have a listen and tell us what you think. Doesn’t sound rushed to me!
