Kelly Rowland Premieres 'Lay It On Me' Music Video
After the surprise success of 'Motivation', Kelly Rowland returns to back it up with another sensual R&B hit that comes complete with a stylish video.
'Lay It On Me' depicts the current UK X Factor judge as the ultimate goddess catered to by topless, muscular men who fall at her feet, lift her up and even collectively bend over to form a human recliner for her to sit on.
The sensual flesh-toned video was directed by Sarah Chatfield, who also did Rowland's 'Motivation' and forthcoming 'Down For Whatever' videos, and choreographed by Frank Gatson Jr. who is best known for working with Beyoncé.
Rowland filmed the video last month and caused a stir when teaser images were released showing her dancing in a revealing white one-piece and playing with a baby elephant on set. The R&B singer is understood to have filmed both 'Lay It On Me' and 'Down For Whatever' videos back to back, with the latter serving as her next international single due for release in the UK on 30 October.
'Lay It On Me' - featuring rising star rapper Big Sean - is currently climbing the US Billboard R&B/ Hip Hop charts, reaching a new peak of #43 this week. The song has much to live up to, given that her last single 'Motivation' succeeded in staying at #1 on the R&B charts for seven consecutive weeks. 'Motivation' also peaked at #17 on the US Billboard Hot 100, making it Rowland's best charting single as a solo artist and her first Top 20 smash as a lead singer. The last US Top 20 hit Kelly had was with Nelly on the 2002 Grammy-winning single 'Dilemma'.
