Kelly Clarkson to Release "Greatest Hits" Album

Kelly Clarkson has had a relatively lengthy career so, naturally, it’s time for her to release a collection of her most popular songs.  To sweeten the deal, she’s taking a page from Pink’s book and releasing a new single along with her familiar tracks.

The original American Idol champ first gained stardom with her winning song “A Moment Like This” and, since then, she’s released an amazing five albums.  Set for a November 19, 2012 release, Greatest Hits – Chapter 1 comes barely a year after Stronger debuted. 

The album’s lone new track, “Catch My Breath,” will be released digitally on October 16, 2012.  Based on her words in a recent interview, she seems to have a real connection with it already.  She said: "This song represents who I've been, what I've felt, and where I'm headed as not only an artist but as a 30 year old that is now smart enough to know that it's time to stop, catch my breath, and be proud of not only what has been accomplished but of all the people that have helped me become the woman I am today."

She’s absolutely correct.  Not only has she earned the right to stop and enjoy her life (and maybe get married and have a couple kids?!) but it seems like hitting 30 is a milestone that causes even the most famous of people to pause, reflect and reevaluate what’s really important.

Despite her beginnings as a pop star, Clarkson is nominated in the “Female Vocalist of the Year” category at the Country Music Association Awards which take place in Nashville next month.
