Katy Perry Sings Lady GaGa's 'Born This Way'
Katy Perry was captured on camera covering Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' at her show at the Le Zenith concert hall in Paris on Monday. The 'Firework' singer at the moment is in the middle of her world tour showing patrons why she was recently nominated for four Grammy Awards.
The version was cut down with a slower, acoustic country-folk type melody, but her rendition has still captured the music loving world. Sitting between two acoustic guitarists, Perry paid tribute to The Fame Monster superstar. Gaga only released 'Born This Way' last month ... Is this a record for the most quickly covered song?
Most critics have been pretty happy with the performance by Perry, and judging by the screams coming from the crowd, they seemed more than very pleased.
You could almost call her vocals raspy, reminiscent of Bonnie Tyler, even sounding a bit like Madonna. Her diction seemed to be more precise that Lady Gaga's version, so you are able to hear the message given in the song.
Fans have been terrific in their response to the 'Teenage Dream' singer. Katy has enjoyed her Paris visit so much, that on her website she Tweeted, "I love Paris so much I want to stay forever."
In other news that will impress her fans, Katy has been officially named the new face of British hairstying and appliance brand "ghd". The UK can expect to see new ads featuring the 'California Gurls' singer; new ads photographed by renowned US photographer David LaChapelle. The "ghd" company is sponsoring Katy's current European tour. She also promotes "Proactiv" and "Schick", plus her own perfume named "Purr" which will be sold in a cat shaped bottle.
