Katy Perry Releases New "Katy Perry: Part of Me" Snippet

The 3D concert film about the pop diva's life and career will be released on July 5. Katy Perry Releases New "Katy Perry: Part of Me" Snippet

Katy Perry has portrayed the rebellious side of her personality in a fresh snippet of her upcoming 3D concert film "Katy Perry: Part of Me." The clip, which has been released through MTV, shows the scenes in which Perry had to face opposition from her parents for choosing music as her choice of career. But despite their disapproval of her choices, she refuses to stray away from her destination and releases the much bold "I Kissed a Girl" as her debut song.

While her mom and dad were clearly not happy, the 27-year-old popster claims that it didn't damage her relationship with them and they are still a very loving family. "I think people love the idea of 'a good girl gone bad', and they think my parents have disowned me, but that's not the story at all," Perry said.

The 3D biopic, which is scheduled for a US-wide release on July 5, aims at showcasing what Perry's life is like, both on and off the camera. It is being directed by the production team Magical Elves, who are also credited with masterminding Perry's fellow pop singer Justin Bieber's concert movie "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never."

The "Teenage Dream" crooner once described her concert film by saying: "This film, you're going to see it from my best friend/buddy perspective, you're going to see exactly what I mean and feel and think about everything."

About its 3D feature, she added: "Listen, I've [worked on] most of this film for a very long time and the word 'cheap' was not in the vocabulary. But, hello, it's 3D. You're going to get hit with a lot of s***."
