Katy Perry Is Enjoying Being Single

Katy Perry has a lot on her plate with a new movie out, a new album on the horizon and recovering from her recent divorce.  While she seems to be managing relatively well, she doesn’t seem to want to add anything to that just yet which is probably a good idea.  In her documentary, Part of Me, she is shown breaking down backstage over her breakup with Russell Brand.  "I left in all of those scenes where I don't look very flattering," she says. "Because that's me."

Perry is moving on but that doesn’t mean that she wants to get serious about anything at the moment.

She told USA Today: "For me, right now, I'm totally not looking. I'm just looking to heal. And I'm on that path. I'm not down on love."

Of course, she was asked about the rumors that she is dating Florence and the Machine guitarist, Robert Ackroyd.

"That's not even appropriate to label," she says. "There are times I go out and meet people and flirt, but it's not really appropriate to have anything serious."

The experience seems to have left her feeling as though she is in charge of her own happiness.  She says: "my fairy-tale has absolutely changed.  I don't need the Prince Charming to have my own happy ending. I can make the happy ending myself."
