Kate Bush Releases 'Director's Cut'
English singer songwriter, Kate Bush, is on track to reach the top of the UK albums chart this week with her latest album "Director's Cut". Released on 16 May, the album debuted the UK charts at the revered number one spot.
Containing eleven tracks of considerably re-worked material from the albums 1989's "The Sensual World" and 1993's "The Red Shoes", this latest work has the advantage of digital technology combined with new lead vocals and the latest music equipment. The plan has been to create a much "warmer sound". The album is not just a collection of re-mixes; it is a compilation of tracks from these albums but they have been substantially changed. The lyrics have been altered, and the key in which they were originally written has been changed to adapt to Kate's lowering voice.
Of particular interest in the first track on the album, "Flower of the Mountain" which is a new version of the song 'The Sensual World'.

As of midweek, Kate Bush's latest album has just inched ahead of the sensational "21" album by Adele which has hogged the number one spot for the last eight weeks. The "Director's Cut" has sold over 17,500 discs compared to "21" selling just under 15,000.
