Justin Bieber Turns Himself In After Assault Allegations
Less than a week after being arrested in Miami, Justin Bieber faces additional allegations from an incident happening at the end of 2013.
According to a report from the Associated Press, one of the member’s from the singer’s entourage assaulted a limo driver in Toronto at the end of 2013. Although it still hasn’t been determined if the pop star himself had a direct role in the incident, he turned himself in this week, according to a report from Rolling Stone.
Bieber’s lawyer has since issued a statement claiming the pop star’s innocence in the incident: "The Toronto Police Service requested that Justin Bieber appear in Toronto today to face an allegation of assault relating to an incident on December 29, 2013. We anticipate that this matter will be treated as a summary offense, the equivalent of a misdemeanor in the United States. Our position is that Mr. Bieber is innocent. As the matter is now before the court, it would be inappropriate to address the specifics of either the allegation or of our defense at this time."
While this incident happened less than a month ago, the past few weeks have seen Bieber get into one trouble after another, from throwing eggs at a neighbor’s home in Calabasas to alleged drug findings during a police raid to drag racing and getting arrested in Miami. For the latter incident, he’s expected to appear in court on February 14.
