Justin Bieber Talks Plans for Next ‘Believe’ Single
“Boyfriend,” the first single from Justin Bieber’s upcoming album Believe, debuted at the end of March, and the video made its full appearance this past week. But, even before Believe hits stores, the Biebs has plans for a second album single. However, he isn’t certain about which track will receive airplay. Song “As Long As You Love Me” is a possibility, but whichever track he chooses may hit airwaves as early as next weekend.
At the moment, the teen singer is still narrowing down the tracklist for Believe, which he considers his best album to date. The pop star, who wrote or co-wrote all possible tracks for the album, recently addressed some of the songs that may or may not be part of Believe. One is a track written for his mother, which may end up being a non-album single for Mother’s Day. Another is song about Mariah Yeater, the 20-year-old who claimed the singer is the father of her child. He said: "The baby situation where they said i had her baby, totally not true by the way, i wrote a song about that. it's my kinda 'Billie Jean."
Aside from these tracks, Believe will include collaborations with Drake, Kanye West, and Usher.
The full video for “Boyfriend” made its debut on May 3. The track is the singer’s highest-charting single so far, appearing its first week at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Additionally, “Boyfriend” has the second highest sales for a digital debut, with 521,000 units its first week; Flo Rida’s “Right Round” has the highest amount.
