Justin Bieber Releases “Nothing Like Us” from New Acoustic Album
While remaining mum for the past few months regarding his breakup with Selena Gomez, save for a cover of “Cry Me a River,” Justin Bieber finally reveals how he feels in a new song. “Nothing Like Us,” the track from his upcoming Believe Acoustic album, has a stripped down, plaintive feel and indicates that the Biebs isn’t entirely over the Disney star.
In speaking about the track with Billboard, he said: “Because at the end of the day, there's nothing like us, you know? That's just it. It is what it is. People are going to relate to that. […] I'm not in the happiest place that I've ever been. I'm trying to get through what I'm going through.”
If you haven’t listened to the song, one of the originals off Believe Acoustic, hear it here:
In a Billboard cover story about the pop star, the singer and manager Scooter Braun discuss Believe Acoustic, which hits stores on January 29. Braun, while mentioning the album is part of an effort to steer the “Boyfriend” star toward a Grammy, states that the acoustic release is a return-to-form for the pop star – that’s how fans originally found him. Braun said: "[T]his is how fans first knew Justin. Even with 'Baby,' we put an acoustic version online weeks before the studio version."
Believe Acoustic features eight reworked tracks from Bieber’s latest album and is predicted to earn him another No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Three tracks, written or co-written by the pop star, have been added to the album.
