In what is probably the worst news his fans could get on Christmas Eve, Justin Bieber has confirmed that he is 'officially retiring.'

The 19-year-old Canadian made the announcement via a series of messages on Twitter, saying: "My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring."

He further said: "The media talks a lot about me.They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I'm never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle," before adding: "Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas IM HERE FOREVER."

Without re-visiting the topic, he then proceeded to promote his upcoming 3D concert film, Believe.

The "Boyfriend" singer first talked about his retirment last week during an interview with Power 106 radio station. His exact words were: "I'm actually retiring, man."

His camp, however, swiftly disowned those remarks and assured that Bieber isn't going anywhere.
