Earlier this year, Joe Jonas revealed to JustJaredJr.com that the Jonas Brothers are in the studio working on a new album. Along with this new release, the trio are doing a one-off performance in New York on October 11. Speaking with MTV News this week, the group that saw their heyday in 2008 discussed their upcoming album’s progress and plans.

Although the album currently has no defined release date, they have been writing songs for three or four months. Joe Jonas said: "I think probably this year. I wish it could be released tomorrow. Obviously, there's just so many other things you have to think about. But we've been working on music for about three, four months now and got into a place now where it's just a rhythm, and we're creating the music, and it's really coming together really well. I would say fall hopefully you'll hear some stuff."

The group, on the other hand, has been on hiatus for roughly two years. While one is presently on Broadway, two other members are trying out reality television. In creating the follow-up to 2010’s Lines, Vines and Trying Times, the JoBros listened to their old material for inspiration. However, don’t expect a repeat of their earlier releases. Instead, according to Kevin: "We've done some out-of-the-box things. We've done some things that are rocky, poppy, country-ish. We've done everything."

What might you hear? Although they weren’t entirely clear with MTV, Joe informed JustJaredJr.com to expect something “organic” instead of the standard electronic pop of the moment.

What do you hope the Jonas Brothers do for their upcoming release?
