Jill Scott Cozies Up to Paul Wall in "So Gone (What My Mind Says)" Music Video
Jill Scott is no stranger to sensual topics in her songs, and her latest release, “So Gone (What My Mind Says)" featuring Houston rapper Paul Wall proves that. In addition to the song, Scott has just released the video for the latest song from her fourth studio album, "Light of the Sun,” and it is hot.
The visual features a horny Scott, who enlists the services of gigolo Diamond Chip Dick to help “put out her fire.” Dick is played by a sexed-up Paul Wall, who, besides supplying his sexual services, adds a raunchy verse to the song, as well.
“It’s a song about a girl who is being celibate because she’s respecting herself and trying to do something completely different,” said Scott to Rap-Up.com. “In the meantime, she’s still a boss and she could use a little [sex]. She gets a phone call from her girlfriend who says, ‘Why don’t you call Diamond Chip Dick?’ Diamond Chip Dick is a service where they come and please you and take the trash out when they leave. But it’s too good. She’s gotten Dickmatized. Paul Wall plays the gentlemean from the Diamond Chip Dick company. He basically says what he does that’s got her sprung.”
The video involves a lot of obligatory touching and rubbing, not to mention a moaning alto by Scott, whose leopard print and side ponytail cup her curves almost sinfully. H-town rapper Paul Wall isn’t too bad on the eyes, either, and his country twang and Rated R lyrics make for a panty-throwing climax.
The ending is a little confusing, with Scott looking down at a picture of Paul Wall as he arrives at her home. There are words scribbled on the picture, too, but they are blurred out, so the viewer never gets the chance to learn if his arrival is a good or bad thing.
Scott will be singing alongside Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J and others at this year’s “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul,” set to air December 19. Maybe she will bring some of her trademark sensuality to the show.
