Jessie J’s ‘Alive’ Leaks Online
It’s practically a rite of passage for an artist to see his or her upcoming album or single leaked. Jessie J becomes the latest. During the past week, the copy of Alive for the U.K. and rest of the world surfaced online.
However, rather than bump up the actual release date a few days, the label appears to be releasing Alive on September 23.
The “It’s My Party” singer spoke about the leak, through Twitter statements, when she found out about it. She said: "One day. Just one day. Something I work hard on will NOT be leaked... The mystery in music is slowing disappearing. The big reveals don't happen anymore, everything is so immediate! Social networking just makes everything so accessible. Such a shame."
The leak, as well, gave U.S. listeners a chance to hear Alive. If you have been following what’s been going on with Alive, Jessie J’s label requested it be re-tooled for American audiences. Based on the singer’s statements, this appears to include working with Pharrell Williams on a few new tracks. Right now, the U.S. version has no official release date.
Along with this, Jessie J goes on the road in support next year with Robin Thicke. If you can recall, she postponed part of her 2012 to spend more time working on her sophomore release, and later dropped out of The Voice U.K. for the same reason.
