Jessie J Releases New Single “Thunder”
Jessie J’s latest album Alive debuted at No. 3 on the U.K. album chart, even after a leak right before its release. So far, she’s put out singles “It’s My Party” and “Wild,” and now “Thunder” joins the group.
In an interview with The Mirror, the “Domino” singer revealed “Thunder” is about her relationship with religion, which can be felt throughout all of Alive. She explained: "'Thunder' is a dedication to God. That's why in the video I'm levitating – that feeling of being lifted to the light.”
Speaking about the album’s overall feel, she said: "I remember I prayed a lot when I worked on this album and it's not something I've ever spoken about openly. But I'm just more confident and feel more comfortable to be open about my beliefs and feelings on the world now. I thank God every day for my blessings and my talent."
Alive came out in September in the U.K. However, its U.S. release has been moved to 2014. According to reports, Alive is being reworked for American audiences, with tracks written by and recorded with Pharrell possibly included. Right now, there’s no definite date for the U.S. release.
