Jessica Simpson's Father Joe Arrested For DUI

TMZ has discovered that the father of new mom and singer Jessica Simpson was arrested last weekend on Saturday, August 4th in Los Angeles.  According to the outlet, Simpson, who is well known for managing both his daughters music careers,  was driving under the influence when he was stopped by police in the Sherman Oaks area around 10 pm.  He was said to have been visibly intoxicated.

Shortly after being pulled over, Simpson was cuffed by police at the scene and then taken into custody where he spent the night.  The 54-year old was then released without bail the next morning at 9:41 am.  Criminal charges against the former minister were said not to have been filed because it is his first offense.  He could however face some hefty fines.  The case has been sent to the prosecutors in the L.A. City Attorney's Office where Joe Simpson’s punishment will be determined.

Since his arrest it has been revealed that Joe Simpson was driving with a .12 blood alcohol level.  He is rumored to have been drinking at the Mexican restaurant called Casa Vega.  The singer's father has yet to issue a public statement over his arrest.
