Jennifer Lopez Reveals Eighth Album’s Title and Artwork
We’ve been hearing that Jennifer Lopez has a new album in the works for the past year. The follow-up to Love? essentially would have potential to extend her comeback, after the poor performance of Brave. However, up until this point, we’ve had little information about the release, save for two singles.
This week, the actress/singer came forward on social media with two important pieces of information. One, the album will be called AKA, and two, she put out an image of the cover art. Although expected by June, an actual release date still has not been revealed.
So far, we’ve heard cuts “I Luh Ya Papi” and “First Love,” with the latter being the album’s first official single. Lopez previously explained that she’s aiming for a more mature perspective on love, this time around: "My topic has always been love. Love in a fairy-tale kind of way [and] praying and wishing for that. After all these years, I've learned that love is something other than what I thought it was. [I'm] just more grown now."
This release will feature collaborations with Robin Thicke, Chris Brown, Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, Tyga, and Maxwell.
AKA follows Lopez’s 2011 release, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Love? generated singles “On The Floor,” “Papi,” and “I’m Into You.”
