Jennifer Lopez Announces New Single “First Love”
Jennifer Lopez is gearing up for a brand new album, and after putting out single “I Luh Ya Papi,” she now has a follow-up track called “First Love.”
Lopez revealed the new track at the party for her studio album on April 25 and then went onto describe the release. While a title and official release date aren’t known yet, Lopez hinted at collaborations with Pit Bull, Diplo, Chris Brown, and Rockstar. Max Martin, known for his top-charting pop hits, produced “First Love.”
At the preview, Lopez started talking about how this album, and subsequently this song, shows a more mature outlook on love. The pop star who once sang “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” said: "My topic has always been love. Love in a fairy-tale kind of way [and] praying and wishing for that.”
Lopez then said: "After all these years, I've learned that love is something other than what I thought it was. [I'm] just more grown now."
According to reports, the video for “First Love” has already been filmed, with Lopez going out to Los Angeles for the shoot.
This album, predicted to come out at some point in June, follows 2011’s Love?, which was considered Lopez’s comeback after the poor performance of Brave. Love? ended up reaching No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and produced three hit tracks: “On The Floor,” “I’m Into You,” and “Papi.”
