Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift Collaborating on New Song
Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift’s recent concert appearance doesn’t look to be the only time they’ll be working together. While Lopez came on stage during one of Swift’s shows to run through “Jenny from the Block,” a source recently told Us Weekly that the two singers plan to go into the studio together.
The result is expected to be a track for Lopez’s upcoming studio album, a follow-up to 2011’s Love? The source said: “Both of them are huge fans of each other and excited to work together!”
Although Lopez’s comeback material veers more in the direction of dance pop, her studio album slated to appear at some point in early 2014 covers a broader scope. With RedOne producing the album, listeners should expect a sonic palette ranging from Latin to urban to hip-hop, with several collaborations.
While Lopez hasn’t openly spoken about working with Swift, she did talk about her sessions with Chris Brown in an interview with Extra: “Yes, when we were in the studio, writing songs and just getting that whole 'Jenny from the Block' flavor back. We actually worked on a bunch of ideas... and we talked about doing a duet together for his album. Every time I get a new song I'm like, 'Oh, that could be a new title for the album.'”
A new album isn’t the only project to expect from Lopez over the upcoming months. Recently, her deal with American Idol was finalized, and for the upcoming season, she will be joining Harry Connick, Jr. and Keith Urban on the judges’ panel.
