Jay-Z Delivers Big Stars on NBA2K13 Soundtrack

Sometimes, the music playing in a video game is just as important as the graphics. Jay-Z Delivers Big Stars on NBA2K13 Soundtrack

Jay-Z has been tapped as the executive producer for the upcoming basketball video game, NBA2K13.  As anyone could have predicted, Hova is delivering the goods by bringing in some pretty incredible artists and their songs. For example, U2 has consented to have their song “Elevate” included. As 2K Sport’s VP of marketing, Jason Argent, explains:  "I'm not sure if they've ever been in a video game."  They haven’t.

The music is great because it is so diverse which is so important for this type of thing. Just because people enjoy basketball or video games, it doesn’t mean they want to hear the same kind of music.  There’s really a little something for everyone.

Argent went on to say: "Jay is completely obsessed with authenticity. So right off the bat, he said 'Look, I love this franchise and I love this game, but if you want me to be involved, I need to be truly involved. I want to actually help make this game… We wanted him to truly be involved from a behind-the-scenes production standpoint. [With] his involvement within the league, he brought such a level of understanding to what we were trying to accomplish… I think the final product will reflect that level of excitement that he had."
