Just days after his New Year’s Eve performance in New York, Jason Derulo fractured his neck while rehearsing for the U.K. leg of his current tour. Derulo, known for doing his own stunt-like moves on stage, broke the news on Twitter and tweeted a picture for proof. He wrote: I fractured my neck doing tumbling & acrobatics 4 tour! Always tryin 2 push boundaries 4 YOU! Like my new chain? ;)”

At the moment, Derulo’s condition has not been disclosed, and there’s no word on whether his tour will be delayed. If on schedule, the tour begins on February 23 in Glasgow. Derulo’s representative is expected to release a formal statement soon.

Derulo is best-known for single “Whatcha Say,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009. At the time, he told Billboard: "They say the odds of your first single going No. 1 are like being hit by lightning seven times. It's amazing because fans are what makes a No. 1 hit."

Since then, Derulo put out his sophomore album, titled Future History. Single “It Girl,” as of the week of January 14, is #32 on the Hot 100.

Songs on Future History are based on Derulo’s personal history. In an exclusive interview with New-Magazine.co.uk, Derulo said about his album and song “Fight for You”: "It's very relationship-based and the line means so much, whatever you believe in you should go for.

"The song is based on a personal experience, I was in a relationship and I put myself in that place again where you would do anything to keep the relationship together so I went back to that place."
