Jason Aldean Releases 'Dirt Road Anthem' With Rap

Jason Aldean has just made a sensation of his latest single Dirt Road Anthem. Performed at the CMT Music Awards as a country rap collaboration with Ludacris, the duet is unique in that this type of combination is something quite new. Rap is normally embedded into more popular type of music.

"Dirt Road Anthem" was selected back in March this year as the third single to be released off his current album My Kinda Party. On listening to the song, one can hear the potential it has for a rap collaboration. And this is exactly what has happened at this year's CMT Music Awards. Now the single has been re-released featuring Ludacris, and has made it into the top ten on the Hot Country Songs Chart – a first for Jason Aldean.

When the idea of getting a hip-hop artist collaboration was suggested, Jason said it would largely depend on who would be involved. He said, "Some of those guys are hardcore rappers, but guys like him [Ludacris] are more mainstream."

When the suggestion of Ludacris was offered, Jason asked him to write a piece for the song.The performer replied with references to a six-pack on ice, Kenny Rogers, and a southern breeze. Aldean just knew they had found the right man. After the CMT Awards, Jason said,"I thought it went off great and I had a blast performing with him, We have each other's numbers and if I go to Atlanta, I'm definitely calling him. He's the mayor of that town, I think!"

Both performers have posted the new video of their collaboration on their websites, and have thus introduced fans to a new taste in music. The new collaboration is also now available on iTunes.
