Jamie Cullum Axed Gig in France Due to Snow
Jamie Cullum has been forced to cancel a show in France because of an extreme snowfall this week. The performance in Lyon was scheduled for December 1, but when his crew were unable to get to the Bourse Du Travail location, the show was called off. The "Everlasting Love" singer wrote on Twitter: "It is with great sadness that we have to pull the gig tonight. The snow has prevented us from getting to Lyon. We are still miles away." ... "We're trapped behind tons of other lorries. I am absolutely gutted. So sorry Lyon. Trapped in a service station lay-by."
The jazz star is really disappointed.
On September 10, Jamie and British model Sophie Dahl announced that they are expecting their first child. A spokesperson for the couple released a statement: "In response to a number of recent inquiries, Jamie Cullum and Sophie Dahl are delighted to confirm that Sophie is four months pregnant."
Sophie is the granddaughter of famous author Roald Dahl. She has been married to Jamie since last January. As seen in the photo Sophie is considerably taller. The jazz singer acknowledged: "To be honest, I'm a geek and so is Sophie." The singer admitted: "We're just two people who met and swiftly fell totally in love. That's the end of the story."
Cullum composed the main score for the 2008 movie drama "Gran Torino" starring Clint Eastwood. The "Dirty Harry" legend has revealed his love of jazz music in an interview, saying that he is a huge fan of Cullum’s work: "You jumped off the piano... I thought, 'Hey, this guy's going somewhere!' I did feel that you were bringing an entertainment value to jazz, or swing or blues or whatever you were playing... that had long been missing. I became a fan on that evening. It's a rare opportunity for me to be on the Jamie Cullum show, it's always fun to talk about music."
