James Blunt Has No Plans for More Music

The former member of the British army is taking an indefinite break from his music. James Blunt Has No Plans for More Music

When James Blunt released his debut album, Back to Bedlam, back in 2004, it’s unlikely that he realized how big the lead single would be.  Indeed, “You’re Beautiful” seemed to be everywhere in 2006 and this unknown British singer-songwriter was suddenly the toast of the town.

Most people would hesitate to describe Blunt as being traditionally handsome but his emotional lyrics and sweet voice was enough to attract the attention of supermodel, Petra Nemcova.

In the years that followed his smash hit, he did release two more albums including his most recent effort, Some Kind of Trouble (2010).  He has been hard at work writing and touring but has never been able to recapture that initial success.

Now, the 38-year-old says that he needs to take some time out for himself.  In a recent interview, he explained that he doesn’t have any plans to do any more songwriting and has been “chilling” at his villa in Ibiza since finishing his world tour last year.

Perhaps, some time away will be a good thing.  Everyone needs a break to feel refreshed from time to time.  Besides, even if he left music forever, it’s a far cry from the life he would have had if he’d stay in the British military where he served for six years!
