Jack White Contributes to ‘Rome’ a New Album from Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi
With the demise of The White Stripes, Jack White former guitarist, singer and composer of the band has contributed on a new project entitled, Rome. The new record from Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi is a collaborative project which has taken 5 years to complete. It is due for release on May 16th
It is inspired by the legendary soundtrack work by Ennio Morricone and was recorded intermittently over the 5 years. Mouse and Luppi recorded the album at Rome’s Forum Studios which was impart founded by Morricone himself, and the album features musicians that have worked with the great man.
Norah Jones also sings on some tracks, and between her and Jack White they have contributed to six songs featured on the album. Jack White sings ‘The Rose with the Broken Neck’, Two Against One’ and ‘The World, while Norah Jones lends her vocals to ‘Season’s Trees’, ‘Black’ and ‘Problem Queen’.

All the songs were written by Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi and are thought to be set to a spaghetti western theme which Ennio Morricone pioneered in films like The Good The Bad and the Ugly.
Danger Mouse is a much acclaimed musician and composer, and this new album represents a departure from his previous works. As well as ‘Rome’, he is involved with U2 on the production of their new album which lead singer ‘Bono’ has commented that they have recorded 12 songs with the musician.
