Is Timbaland Producing a Posthumous Michael Jackson Album?
At least when it comes to hip-hop, a posthumous album isn’t entirely unheard of, but considering producer Timbaland appeared against Drake’s decision to do a posthumous project for singer Aaliyah, could he be doing such a release himself?
While the details are not clear, an interview with Revolt TV indicates that could possibly be the case. Specifically, the producer known for creating hits for Justin Timberlake, as well as many other artists, seems to be attached to a posthumous Michael Jackson project initiated by Epic Records’ L.A. Reid.
But instead of digging up old tunes Jackson hadn’t released, Timbaland might be blending his own music with the King of Pop’s. In the interview, he explained: “To even go bigger would be two kings working together.”
The first release from this effort is expected to be a track called “Chicago,” although an exact date wasn’t revealed.
However, this is far from the only project the producer has in the works. In the same interview, he mentioned producing an album for Nas. While few details, as well, were provided about the Nas album, listeners should expect a collaboration with Justin Timberlake, called “Sinatra in the Sand.”
We’ll all have to wait and see what happens with this Michael Jackson project and Nas album. In the meantime, you can see Timbaland’s interview here:
