Is Madonna Doing Another Dance Music Album? Singer Announces Collaboration With Avicii
Madonna’s success in the dance music world has been limited and varied. Her early career fed off ‘80s club culture, from the sounds of popular singles to her relationship with DJ Jellybean Benitez. Yet after moving in different directions and doing multiple reinventions throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, she returned to dance music on 2012’s MDNA, collaborating with William Orbit, Martin Solveig, and Benny Benassi. Although the tour turned into a success and the album sold somewhat well, the release only produced one single that made it onto the Billboard Hot 100.
So with a recent announcement on Instagram, could Madonna be making another dance music-inspired record? She appears to hint at it. A picture of the singer in black fishnets, supposedly cleaning her bathroom, was accompanied by the following caption: "Doing some house work after 4 hours of sleep which is why i cant spell! On my way to the studio to work with Avicii!"
The two already somewhat worked together, with Avicii remixing second MDNA single “Girl Gone Wild.” The Swedish producer premiered the track, with Madonna appearing on stage with him, at his Ultra Music Festival 2012 performance.
A follow-up to MDNA is already in the works, with Madonna telling the Canadian Press earlier this year: "Yes, plans are in the works already. Don't ask me with who - it's a secret. Top secret."
