Is Justin Timberlake Working on a New Album?
Justin Timberlake’s Future Sex/Love Sounds was huge in 2006 and ’07, but in nearly six years, why hasn’t the singer made a follow-up? Producer Jim Beanz got fans’ hopes up yesterday, telling Digital Spy that Timberlake is now in the studio.
The former *NSYNC member, according to Beanz, was writing tracks with Timbaland, and Beanz, who has not only collaborated with Timbaland but more recently has produced for Katy Perry and Adam Lambert, would be joining them later. About work on the album, Beanz said: "When I get back to the States I'm going to be helping out on ‘Shock Value 3’ with Timbaland and the Justin Timberlake project."
Beanz went on, stating: "It's still in the early stages, but they have a lot of tracks. While I've been over here in the UK they've been working, so by the time I get back they'll have a whole load of ideas and I'm going to have to catch up! […] He has some crazy, crazy stuff."
Beanz went on to state that Timberlake is not looking to top Future Sex but, instead, to compete with the sounds on the radio. Considering the present electronic-influenced pop trend really started in 2006 (listen to “Sexyback” and other Timbaland-produced singles from those two years), Timberlake would be picking up just where he left off.
On the other hand, the singer’s publicist told Entertainment Weekly the same day that Timberlake is fully invested in his acting career and has no plans to enter the studio. In fact, the singer-turned-actor is presently in Puerto Rico, filming Runner Runner with Ben Affleck.
Are you wishing for a follow-up to Future Sex/Love Sounds, or should Justin be pushing forward with acting?
