Is Justin Bieber Retiring After ‘Journals’?
How long will Justin Bieber last as a teenage pop idol? He may be cutting his career short before he experiences his first major flop!
According to an interview he did on Tuesday with Power 106, he’s planning to retire after his upcoming album.
For those not aware, Bieber’s latest release, Journals, came out December 16 in the U.S. It compiles all of his Music Mondays tracks into a single collection, and also includes five unreleased songs and a few videos.
During the interview, he stated, much to fans’ surprise: "After the new album, I'm actually retiring man. I'm retiring.”
He then went onto clarify his stance, rather than remain wishy-wash: "I think I'm probably going to quit music."
But that doesn’t mean he won’t be out of the spotlight: "I want to grow as an artist and I'm taking a step out, I want my music to mature."
From here, though, we’ll have to wait and see what happens. Bieber’s Journals remains a limited-edition release until January 2. From there, each of the 15 tracks and the videos can be purchased separately.
As well, reports from his label don’t have him quitting music just yet. Believe, his latest movie, comes out around Christmas. From there, his next studio album is expected to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2014.
