Is Britney Spears’ Las Vegas Residency Official?
Right as soon as she resigned from The X Factor, Britney Spears revealed her next move to stay in the spotlight: a Las Vegas relevancy. Although speculation that her stay would be too costly, the “I Wanna Go” singer hinted otherwise on Twitter.
In talking to her dog through the microblogging platform, Spears wrote: “I don't think so honey #VivaLasVegas :) RT @hannahspears Mommy, are dogs allowed to gamble in vegas? Gonna cash all my bones in for chips”
Since Spears’ X Factor departure, Caesar’s Palace and other casinos are said to have made offers. While Caesar’s is no longer in the running, a source confirmed to BuzzFeed that a venue has been selected: "There was one definite offer for Britney in Las Vegas. A second one followed when the news broke."
Although no longer a judge and with the Las Vegas residency still not fully official, the “Womanizer” pop star has been in the studio working on a follow-up to 2011’s Femme Fatale. Although, according to her representative in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the album is in the early stages, multiple collaborations are already lined up. Expected to work with Spears are Hit-Boy, the producer behind Kanye West and Jay-Z’s “Ni**as in Paris,” and Will.i.am, who recently worked with the singer to create hit “Scream and Shout.”
Although the representative denied it in the EW interview, songwriter Elijah Blake has discussed working with the pop star and mentioned Rodney Jerkins as a producer.
