Is Adam Lambert Set to Replace Randy Jackson on American Idol?

According to multiple sources, fans should be expecting big changes for American Idol. Is Adam Lambert Set to Replace Randy Jackson on American Idol?

When Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell left, people wondered if American Idol would survive (no one really cared about the departures of Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres) but it has done quite well with Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler on the judges’ panel.

Now, the future of the only remaining original judge, Randy Jackson, is in question.  There are rumors swirling about him being replaced with an actual Idol alum, Adam Lambert!

One source says: "They have been talking about Adam for over a month. He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start. He knows what it's like to be on the receiving end of the judges' comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can't go wrong if they bring him on. He would be able to bring a unique perspective to the show. People love him."

Lopez has not confirmed that she is returning to the show and producer, Nigel Lythgoe, said: "Everything is up in the air ... There will be changes for sure, but nothing that stops it from what it is, which is an out and out talent show."

Another insider added: "Randy is great, but he's part of the old 'Idol.’  They want to keep the soul of the show but have a new look, and for that reason he may well not be part of the new line up."

Well, one thing is for sure, Lambert knows what it is like to be a contestant on the show so he would be able to immediately relate to them but I don’t know if I think he has enough experience in the business to really be worthy of a seat as a judge.
