Instagram Photos Reveal Just Who’s Been in the Studio with The Foo Fighters
Instagram photos are harmless fun, right? Just a bunch of selfies and pictures of food, it seems – that is, until artists start promoting their albums. Justin Bieber kind of started the trend pre-Journals, and now Madonna, who shunned social media during her MDNA promotion in 2012, is at it by Instagramming her collaborations. The Foo Fighters look to be in on this trend, too, and started putting out photos of their studio sessions.
Previously, producer Butch Vig revealed the group are about halfway done the recording process and have been going around to various studios. Instagram, essentially, confirms this.
According to Spin, a recent series of Instagram pictures features David Grohl holding a BB rifle outside of Rancho de la Luna Studios in Joshua Tree, California. A photo from studio owner David Catching is then captioned with: "incredible 9 days of music recording magik."
Other photos show just who’s been in the studio with them. A target practice picture, for instance, has Grohl, Pat Smear, and Masters of the Universe’s Chris Goss, while other images include Vig, Joe Walsh of the Eagles, the Walflowers’ Rami Jafree, engineer James Brown, and Fireball Ministry’s Jim Rota.
While past Instagram photos, including one of master tapes, implied that the Foo Fighters may be done putting together a follow-up to 2011’s Wasting Light, these new ones reveal the band is still in the process of putting something together.
