"Innocence" Video Review
If Volta was the much trailed sound of Björk having fun again after the 'easy to admire, hard to enjoy' Medulla, Innocence is the Icelandic Pixie slipping into her dancing shoes and giving Nelly Furtado a run for her money.
One of the album's collaborations with Timbaland, this is probably as conventional as Björk gets - which is to say, not very. Drums pound, strange spacey noises dominate, while Björk's typically 'love them or hate them' vocals twitter on about "the thrill of fear".
It's impossible to know what it's all about, but it sounds great and a lot more enjoyable than Timbaland's usual generic RnB/pop dross. And with remixes from Simian Mobile Disco and Ghostigital amongst others, there's something for everyone here.
