Indie Dance Producer Eric Sharp Releases ‘Sharp Cuts EP’
Although he originally entered the dance music scene as a promoter of underground parties, Eric Sharp is now endorsed by the world’s top DJs, including Marcus Schulz, Joachin Garraud, Laurent Garnier, Tommie Sunshine, and Drop The Lime.
This indie producer with a deep house sound recently released an EP of new material, titled Sharp Cuts. The release, which can be listened to through Soundcloud, blends deep bass with vocals. The three tracks feature appearances from Anna Lunoe, Daisy O’Dell, Give In, and Siouxie Black.
While Sharp Cuts came out on Win Records on September 3, Sharp, like many dance producers, has seen his releases out on several other labels: Brooklyn Fire, his own Rock It Science Laboratories, 9G, Headset Recordings, Nosi Music, Prismatic Tracks, and Muti Music.
In addition to producing, Sharp has appeared at multiple prominent U.S. music festivals in recent years. He’s performed at Burning Man, South by Southwest, Miami Music Week, and Metro Tech with Diplo, among other appearances. But, unlike many of the big names out there in the EDM world, the West Coast producer still performs at parties and clubs.
But while he himself DJs at events, other top-level spinners have added his tracks to their sets. One, well-known DJ/producer/remixer Tommie Sunshine said in a press statement: "Eric Sharp is one of the most dedicated and fearless creative minds I've met in my lifetime."
