Reggaeton is definitely a dying breed, but Yankee once again tries to throw the Latin-laced genre back into the mainstream with the remix to “Impacto,” featuring BEP frontwoman The Fergie One.

The rhythm is solid reggaeton (produced by noted reggaeton mogul Scott Storch), Yankee does a duller-than-usual version of his standard expostulating and cheering, but whenever the vocodors and synths are going the thing is ridiculously catchy. Just ridiculous. Fergie is fine adding vocal variety, though Hampton The Hamster would have done better. The vocoder-synth stuff is the song, really.
