"I Stay In Love" Video Review

"I Stay in Love" is a song written by Mariah Carey, Bryan-Michael Cox, Kendrick "Wyldcard" Dean, and Adonis Shropshire for Carey's eleventh studio album, E=MC². Produced by Carey and Cox, it was released as the album's fourth single.

The Houston Chronicle described the single as a "gently grooving ballad that Janet Jackson should be recording" and that "Carey effortlessly hits [the notes] at the end of the song".

Carey's husband, Nick Cannon, who directs the music video, finds it difficult to watch his wife pretending to make love to another man. "We did it in, like, one take and I had to kick the dude out. It was one of those situations where I wasn't intimidated but I could've knocked him out at any point," he says.

Carey filmed the video on October 5, 2008, at The Bank Nightclub of The Bellagio Hotel and Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Carey continued to shoot the video on October 6, 2008 in the Nevada desert.
