"Hold It Against Me" Video Review

The "Hold It Against Me" music video is finally here. Now we can watch it and get it over with. Spears' single was so promoted with press releases and teaser campaigns (14 videos!), that I was sick of it, before it even hit the market.

For an allegedly stolen track (read the article here), there was too much attention drawn to it. Besides the Bellamy Brothers "If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me" similarity (what a coincidence...), the song offers the same pale sexuality that anemic cheerleaders would dance to.

If we watch the music video, we can see who paid for all the publicity. The advertised logo plays a role at least as important as Spears herself.

Also, we can see a fight between Britney and Britney, where no one knows who will win, and lots of dancers coordinated by choreographer Brian Friedman, who have gone blind from watching all those teasers.

Britney was instead very happy for the launch of the video, and commented on Twitter: "Without further adieu, I present my video for 'Hold It Against Me', directed by the wonderful Jonas Akerlund. (sic)". She continued: "Hope you guys love it as much as I do. If you didn't I'll kung fu kick you like I did to that chick in the video."
