"Hip Hop Police" Video Review
Chamillionaire won a Grammy for pilfering the racist undertone behind the "driwing while Black" epidemic and turning it into a trunk-rattling summer smash. On his last single, "Not A Criminal", Cham made it clear that his focus wasn't on selling dope but selling records. Still, the cops refuse to get off of his case, identifying Cham (and the iconic Slick Rick) as the lead suspects on an unsolved murder case on his timely new single, "Hip Hop Police".
The clip, which is directed by Mark Klasfeld, is a two part video joined with the song "Evening News." Legendary rapper Slick Rick, who is featured on "Hip Hop Police," also makes a cameo in the video.
"I decided to make two separate videos and put them jointly together because the new album itself plays like a motion picture, with one song setting the stage for the next, before coming together at the very end to convey the message of Ultimate Victory," Chamillionaire explained via a statement. "I felt the best way that I could drive my point across is to show the visual of both records back to back."
