Hilary Duff Writes New Song With Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran might be the man you want on your side when you’re trying to get a hit single on the charts – and make a comeback.
Hilary Duff has been working on a new album, a follow-up to 2007’s Dignity and started giving updates on it last year. While she spoke of going for an EDM sound at the time, news emerged recently that she’s been working with Sheeran.
At the recent iHeartRadio Awards, she listed songwriters she has been collaborating with, and Sheeran’s name came up. About this, she explained: “I’m cutting an Ed Sheeran song next week, which I’m really excited about.”
Sheeran has penned hits for One Direction and Taylor Swift, so it only makes sense that Duff would want to attach herself onto him.
At the same time, the former Disney Star, in giving an update last year, mentioned she plans to have a single out by Spring 2014. This could ultimately be the track she had been hinting at.
However, the recording process appears to stretch back a while. In September, a black and white Instagram photo surfaced of Duff in The Lair Studio, recording a track called “Better Days.” This and other material had been described as “dancey” and “upbeat.”
On the other hand, this characteristic has given way toward “indie pop” and “earthy,” so we’ll have to wait and see what the Lizzie Maguire actress comes up with.
