Highly-Anticipated ‘Anjunadeep 05’ Compilation Scheduled for July 22
Starting as an Anjunabeats sub-label in 2008, Anjunadeep has grown into its own, with a distinct deep house sound fueled by manager and producer James Grant and the roster of artists behind it, including Mat Zo and John Digweed. Along with an ever-growing string of prominent singles, the imprint has a successful compilation series, with the latest two-disc set scheduled to drop on July 22.
Anjunadeep 05 features Grant and Jody Wisternoff doing mixing duties and traversing ambient electronica, deep house, garage, and techno sounds. Grant, opening the compilation, leans more toward the lighter side of this palette, but beyond what you can hear in the five-track sampler now available on Beatport, he features original material from Dusky, Vincenzo, Tom Middleton, Beckwith, and DAVI, as well as a remix of The Presets’ “It’s Cool,” done in conjunction with Andrew Bayer, and two tracks from Universal Solution.
Wisternoff, who has been prominently DJing since the age of 13, changes the direction. The DJ and producer from Way Out West, who is mixing his first disc for Anjunadeep, switches gears in a deep house direction, introducing mixes by Lane 8, Alfred Taylor, Leftwing & Kody, Matt Lange, Andrew Sobota, and other artists.
Samplers for both producers have since come out on Beatport, but if you’re looking to get a preview of the full, double-disc compilation’s vibe, listen to the preview below:
